Description

Portocanale Di Cesenatico 1502 Rosé is a rosé wine from the Leonardo da Vinci winery, embodying the refined and elegant flavors characteristic of the Romagna region in Italy. Made from the renowned Sangiovese grape and inspired by the sketch of the Cesenatico harbor, this wine evokes a gentle, romantic feeling, transporting drinkers to fascinating stories about the life of the genius Leonardo Da Vinci.

From the Poetic Sketch of Cesenatico Harbor

Portocanale Di Cesenatico is the only rosé wine in the 1502 Da Vinci in Romagna collection by Cantine Leonardo Da Vinci, with each wine telling a story about Leonardo's journey in Romagna. The drawing of the coastal village and Cesenatico harbor is the inspiration for this wine.

Cesenatico is one of the four locations associated with four different periods (Cesena, Cesenatico, Faenza, and Imola) during Leonardo's trip to Romagna in 1502. This harbor dates back to 1314, and it was here that Duke Cesare Borgia tasked Leonardo with surveying and improving the harbor's infrastructure. The Portocanale Di Cesenatico sketch is one of the important records in Da Vinci's travelogue about his exploration and renovation of this place.

In fact, Leonardo made two sketches of this location. However, the producer chose the painting depicting the harbor and the nearby village from a top-down perspective to put on the Portocanale Di Cesenatico wine label. From the wine bottle design to the color and flavor of the wine, everything carries the poetic breath of the Cesenatico coastal region.

To the Elegant, Alluring Flavors

Portocanale Di Cesenatico 1502 Rosé has an elegant, light pink color, sparkling with ruby hues. The aroma is refined, with hints of spring flowers blended with fresh fruit notes like white peach, ripe apricot, and red berries.

The wine is fresh and balanced, with pleasant acidity and a hint of the sea's characteristic salinity. The finish is long, with lingering fruit aromas, providing a refreshing and pleasant sensation.

Portocanale Di Cesenatico and Food Pairing

With its fresh and refined flavors, Portocanale Di Cesenatico 1502 Rosé is an ideal choice for light meals, appetizers, and main courses with delicate flavors:

  • Seafood: Fresh seafood such as oysters, scallops, shrimp, and salmon. The wine's light salinity enhances the fresh flavors of the seafood.
  • Salads: Vegetable salads, fruit salads, tuna salads... The wine's light acidity pairs perfectly with the fresh flavors of vegetables and fruits.
  • Italian Cuisine: Pizza, pasta with seafood, cream sauces... The wine's refined flavors harmonize with Italian-style dishes.
  • White Meat: Grilled chicken, steamed fish, boiled pork... The wine's gentle taste does not overpower the flavors of white meat dishes.

To fully enjoy the flavors of Portocanale Di Cesenatico 1502 Rosé, chill the bottle to 8-10°C. Pour the wine into a clear, tall-stemmed glass to observe the color and aroma.

Portocanale Di Cesenatico 1502 Rosé is a rosé wine that offers freshness, refinement, and pleasantness. With its floral, fruity aromas and captivating color, it is a perfect choice for light parties, outdoor meals, or to enjoy with friends and family on special occasions.
