Grape Variety and Production Process

Valdivieso Single Vineyard Chardonnay is a highly favored product from Valdivieso. With a rich history and extensive experience, Viña Valdivieso has consistently affirmed its position as one of Chile's leading wine producers. Their dedication and relentless efforts have resulted in high-quality wines that are enjoyed worldwide. The selected vineyards are located in the Leyda Valley, which experiences a strong maritime influence due to its proximity to the Pacific Ocean. This area has a cool climate, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly, maintaining natural acidity and good aroma quality. The aim is to create a wine that truly reflects this region through an optimal combination of soil, climate, and vines.

The production process of Valdivieso Single Vineyard Chardonnay involves:

  • Utilizing traditional methods to accurately reflect the terroir.
  • Directly transferring the grape bunches to the press.
  • Naturally fermenting the grape juice in French oak barrels, using "wild" yeasts present on the grapes.
  • Adding no sulfur dioxide to ensure successful fermentation.
  • Aging the wine in French oak barrels for 12 months, with weekly stirring of the lees.
  • Omitting the malolactic fermentation process to maintain the natural acidity of the fruit.

Distinctive Flavor Profile of Valdivieso Single Vineyard Chardonnay
